SAFETY

Caledonian Building Services recognizes the requirement to conduct our business in such a way as to ensure so far as reasonably practicable, that employees and others who may be affected by our operations are not exposed to risks to their health and safety.

Health and Safety is a core value in our business.

As a minimum we will strive to fulfill both the spirit and letter of the law but in addition take a proactive approach to achieve continual improvement in performance.

To achieve our health and safety objectives we maintain and operate an effective Injury and Illness Prevention Program. This has helped us to have the lowest Worker’s Compensation Experience Modification Rate (0.52) in Northern California for the last 13 straight years.

At Caledonian we understand that real safety does not exist in a vacuum. It is the result of education and training in full partnership with our customers. Site surveys and job safety analysis prior to the start of a job will often uncover potential safety issues. Addressing those concerns can create a teachable moment for our management and crews as well as our customers, adding value to the service for all parties.

(2) Employers shall not permit their employees to use any building safety devices or equipment prior to receiving copies of the written assurance and, if required, an OPOS from the building owner as required by Section 3282(p)(1)(A) and (C) above.
